Telangana

Telangana is an Indian state located in the Southern region of India. It was established on 02-Jun-2014. The capital of the state is Hyderabad. The official language is Telugu. Additional official language includes Urdu. Major rivers include Godavari, Krishna, Musi, Bhima, Manjira.

As per Census 2011, the total area of the state is 114,840 square kilometres, including 111,105 square kilometres of rural area and 3,735 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a bicameral legislature with 17 Lok Sabha seats, 7 Rajya Sabha seats, 119 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Telangana High Court. Telangana shares borders with Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Odisha.

As per Census 2011, Telangana has a total population of 3,51,93,978 people, including 1,77,04,078 males and 1,74,89,900 females. The sex ratio is 988 females per 1,000 males, population density is 306 people per km², and the literacy rate is 66.46%.
