Jammu And Kashmir
Jammu And Kashmir is an Indian union territory located in the Northern region of India. It was established on 31-Oct-2019. The capital of the union territory is Jammu in winter and Srinagar in summer. Srinagar is the largest city. The official languages are Dogri, English, Hindi, Kashmiri, Urdu. Major rivers include Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Tawi.
As per Census 2011, the total area of the union territory is 222,236 square kilometres, including 220,990 square kilometres of rural area and 1,246 square kilometres of urban area.
The union territory has a unicameral legislature with 5 Lok Sabha seats, 4 Rajya Sabha seats, 90 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Jammu And Kashmir shares borders with Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and has an international border with Pakistan, China.
